Position Overview:
This Clinical Fellowship role in Speech Pathology is dedicated to serving adult patients within our acute care units and our specialized Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility.
Facility Accreditation:
Our Rehabilitation Center proudly holds CARF specialty accreditation in stroke, brain injury, and spinal cord injury care, ensuring we adhere to the highest standards of patient care. We emphasize continuous training and development of clinical skills in these critical areas, alongside advancements in rehabilitation technology to facilitate patient recovery.
Collaboration and Skills:
Successful candidates will have prior clinical experience in a hospital setting, demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Work Schedule:
This part-time position involves coverage for two weekends each month and alternating Fridays, with opportunities for additional shifts. A holiday rotation is also part of the responsibilities.
Onboarding and Mentorship:
We provide a comprehensive onboarding process for all new hires, along with mentorship aligned with ASHA guidelines throughout the Clinical Fellowship year.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s or doctoral degree in speech pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of requirements to initiate a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Temporary SLP license from the MN Department of Health.
- CPR Certification (Basic Life Support).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a student clinical rotation within an adult hospital or medical environment.
