We are seeking a Security Engineering Team Lead who will advocate for the protection of data and environments for both Alkami and its clientele.

The selected leader will guide and mentor a rapidly expanding team, with an expectation of continuous learning and development.

In addition to overseeing the Security Engineering domain, you will collaborate with various cross-functional teams, including Security Architecture, Security Operations, Identity and Access Management, Site Reliability Engineering, and IT, to further the cybersecurity initiatives of the organization.

At Alkami, we prioritize the growth and success of our leaders, and this position will embody that commitment, providing representation in the Information Security Steering Committee and other key forums within the company.

Your technical expertise, background in information security, strong problem-solving abilities, and collaborative skills will be instrumental in advancing the program.

This role is hands-on, necessitating active engagement and teamwork.

The Security Engineering Team Lead will be accountable for assessing individual and team performance based on established metrics and objectives throughout the year.

Moreover, this individual should be a thought leader, driving technical discussions, triaging, researching, and investigating both active and potential threats to the Alkami ecosystem.


Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, develop, mentor, and manage the activities of security engineers and individual contributors within the Alkami Security Engineering team.
• Implement and manage security tool stacks such as Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Next-Generation Antivirus (NGAV), and vulnerability scanning tools.
• Ensure the operational uptime of security tools.

• Research, develop, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of new tools, techniques, industry best practices (CIS, CSA, NIST), and process enhancements for the detection, analysis, and response to emerging security threats.

• Develop and present security engineering metrics and dashboards, contributing to departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance objectives.
• Participate in oversight activities conducted by external regulators, auditors, and other relevant parties as necessary.

Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 years of leadership or management experience in the Information Security domain.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in the field.
• Proven experience in security leadership and management.
• Cybersecurity certifications such as CEH, CISSP, GCIH, GSEC, GCIA, GMON, OSCP, or equivalent are preferred.

Desired Skills:
• Comprehensive understanding of security concepts, including cyber threats and techniques, risk management, and incident management.
• Experience with security device management and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools (e.g., Splunk) and other security solutions.
• Proficient in incident management and response strategies.
• Experience in threat management practices.
• Skilled in the preparation of reports, dashboards, and documentation.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations.
• Enjoy working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
