Electronics Manufacturing Process Engineer

A well-established company specializing in Electronic Engineering and Manufacturing is seeking a Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Process Engineer to join their team in Seymour, CT. The SMT Process Engineer will collaborate with other engineers, both internally and with customers, to prepare, implement, and monitor SMT equipment processes, including programming printers, SPI, pick and place, reflow oven, and AOI. Responsibilities may include debugging and reflow oven profiles, inspecting solder using J STD and class 1-3 IPC standards, and reviewing 2D and 5DX x-ray images. The engineer will also write pre and post-build DFM reports and program label creation/barcodes. Required skills include excellent communication, troubleshooting capabilities, and X-ray programming knowledge is a plus.

Requirements
  • Associates or BS in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • 5+ years' experience in Electrical Engineering for PCB/circuit boards, ideally at a contract manufacturer
  • Working experience with Circuit card and box build assemblies, Gerber layers, and stencils
  • AutoCAD or Solidworks experience
  • Excellent communication
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles
  • X-ray programming knowledge (plus)
