We are seeking a skilled Tissue Processing Specialist Leader to join our team at KA Recruiting Inc. in Birmingham, AL. This full-time, permanent position offers an estimated salary of $65,000 - $80,000 per year.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for directly supervising and coordinating the histology team, including performing routine duties such as embedding, microtoming, special staining, and related tasks. They will also manage employee hiring processes, develop performance expectations, identify essential functions and knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise and coordinate the histology team.
  • Perform routine duties of histology, including embedding, microtoming, special staining, and related tasks.
  • Manage employee hiring processes, including interviewing prospective employees, developing performance expectations, and identifying essential functions and knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Manage employee performance and new employee orientation process.
  • Maintain quality control records on all equipment.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • An associate's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • ASCP (HT) certification preferred.
  • At least 5 years of histotech experience.
  • Some supervisory experience.
