We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Caregiving Professional to join our team at the Good Samaritan Society in Villisca, IA. This is a part-time position working nights, with an estimated 24 hours per week.

As a Caregiving Professional, you will serve as a caregiver to our residents during your scheduled work period, providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Your knowledge and delivery of age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of our residents will be crucial to their well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support
  • Transfer, reposition, and walk residents using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment
  • Provide range of motion and passive exercises
  • Assist with meal preparation and dining, creating a positive experience for our residents

You will also be responsible for aiding providers and nursing staff members with procedures, documenting resident interactions, communicating changes in condition, collecting non-invasive body fluid specimens, gathering vital signs, and performing housekeeping and laundry services.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred
  • Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required, with state certification within four months of date into the position
