In this position, you will play a crucial role in the assembly and evaluation of essential hardware components for Kodiak's autonomous vehicles. We seek a hands-on technician who is adept at supporting a variety of technical initiatives. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment with a diverse and committed team.
Your daily responsibilities will include:- Constructing high-quality harnesses, cables, and enclosures according to engineering specifications.
- Conducting tests and maintaining documentation as directed by engineering teams.
- Executing soldering, mechanical assembly, harness routing, and subsystem construction.
- Overseeing bills of materials (BOMs) and managing laboratory inventory.
- Assisting with updates to the harness library.
- Organizing and maintaining lab equipment, including power supplies, oscilloscopes, probes, and thermal cameras.
- Setting up and managing prototype testing configurations based on wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Ensuring a clean, safe, and organized workspace during assembly and testing activities.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a research and development or technical lab setting, collaborating closely with engineering personnel.
- Proficient in prototype assembly, testing, and operating various test instruments.
- Ability to interpret and construct harnesses from technical drawings.
- Familiarity with soldering tools, multimeters, and crimping devices; experience with oscilloscopes is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective teamwork and project collaboration.
- Self-driven with the capability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and proactivity.
- Ability to make timely decisions amidst complexity, balancing thorough analysis with decisive action.
