We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Occupational Safety Professional to join our team at National Safety Apparel. As an EHS Intern, you will play a vital role in assisting our Corporate Safety Manager in creating, monitoring, and maintaining safety policies and procedures that ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement a Formalized Lockout/Tagout Program: Design and implement a comprehensive lockout/tagout program to ensure the safe shutdown and maintenance of equipment.
- Audit Chemicals within Facilities and update SDS Book as necessary: Conduct regular audits of chemicals within our facilities and update the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) book accordingly.
- Assist Corporate Safety Manager with Safety Committee Tasks and Audits: Support the Corporate Safety Manager in conducting safety committee meetings, audits, and other tasks as assigned.
- Assist Corporate Safety Manager in Safety Trainings and Certifications: Assist in developing and delivering safety training programs and certifications for employees.
- Track and Log Incidents and Injuries as needed, Analyze data for trends: Monitor and record incidents and injuries, and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures for work centers: Create and implement standard operating procedures for work centers to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Implement and maintain all required inspection forms: Develop and maintain inspection forms to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Perform other duties as assigned by the Corporate Safety Manager.
- Education: Working towards a four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with an emphasis in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).
- Experience: Prior experience in manufacturing and safety is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and EPA regulations, and strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Language: Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills are a plus.
