About the Role

We are seeking an energetic and responsible Assistant Youth Development Professional to join our team. As a key member of our elementary out-of-school time programs, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students.

Job Summary

This part-time position requires a passionate individual who can engage with students through various activities, provide support with homework and educational tasks, and promote positive behaviors. The successful candidate must be able to maintain confidentiality, work effectively under supervision, and demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety and Supervision: Maintain a safe environment for students by actively supervising their activities and reporting any concerns to the Site Coordinator.
  • Academic Support: Assist students with homework and educational activities, promoting a culture of academic excellence and personal growth.
  • Positive Influence: Demonstrate positive behaviors, kindness, respect, and helpfulness to students, fostering a supportive community.
  • Tidy and Organized Environment: Ensure spaces are clean and organized, maintaining a welcoming and safe atmosphere for all.
  • Servicing Snacks: Assist with preparing and serving snacks, promoting healthy eating habits and social skills.
  • Attendance Tracking: Help track student attendance and participation as requested, ensuring accurate records and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 16 years old; if under age 18, must work under direct and constant supervision of a Youth Development Professional or Site Coordinator.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, sit, manually manipulate, reach outward and above shoulders, speak, and bend on a daily basis.
  • Lifting Requirements: Capability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs on a daily basis.
