Wareham Animal Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians in delivering top-notch medical services.
Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians with appointments, from intake to discharge, ensuring seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
- Obtain vital parameters from patients and accurate medical history from clients, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Accurately document medical records, including phlebotomy and intravenous catheter placement, preparation and collection of diagnostic samples, and microscopic evaluation for in-house cytology.
- Obtain radiographs and provide clients with education and discharge instructions, ensuring a smooth transition for patients and their owners.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and clients, adhering to hospital standards and protocols.
- Provide nursing and husbandry care to patients, prioritizing their comfort and well-being.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in the veterinary industry or completion of a veterinary assistant program.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented professional with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including electronic medical record keeping, and ability to move 50 lbs.
