Job Summary:
Talladega College is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Law Enforcement Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prevent and suppress crime on campus
- Protect life and property by effecting arrests, pursuing fleeing suspects, and performing rescue operations
- Prepare arrest and incident reports as necessary
- Determine when there is reasonable cause to detain
- Operate a law enforcement vehicle both day and night
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing with a variety of constituencies
Qualifications:
- Alabama Driver's License
- Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training (APOSTC) certification
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred
- Two years' work experience in law enforcement, public safety, security, or corrections
- Personal history free of criminal convictions that legally preclude employment in a position of trust
- Demonstrated oral, written, and interpersonal skills
- Appropriate licenses required for carrying and handling firearms
- Ability to qualify annually with firearm, baton, and defensive driving
