Job Summary:

Talladega College is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Law Enforcement Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prevent and suppress crime on campus
  • Protect life and property by effecting arrests, pursuing fleeing suspects, and performing rescue operations
  • Prepare arrest and incident reports as necessary
  • Determine when there is reasonable cause to detain
  • Operate a law enforcement vehicle both day and night
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing with a variety of constituencies

Qualifications:

  • Alabama Driver's License
  • Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training (APOSTC) certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred
  • Two years' work experience in law enforcement, public safety, security, or corrections
  • Personal history free of criminal convictions that legally preclude employment in a position of trust
  • Demonstrated oral, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Appropriate licenses required for carrying and handling firearms
  • Ability to qualify annually with firearm, baton, and defensive driving
