National Palliative Medical Director

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled National Palliative Medical Director to join our team. This role will provide physician leadership and expertise in advanced illness management and palliative care medicine, driving excellence in patient care and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical guidance and support to local programs, including AIM and Palliative Directors, and palliative/AIM physicians, via telephone or electronic communication.
- Promote compliance with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- Review palliative and AIM documentation for performance improvement and compliance purposes.
Requirements
- Doctorate degree in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in a primary care specialty recognized by the ABMS or AOA-BOS.
- Exemplary leadership skills and a passion for optimizing patient care in advanced illness, palliative care, and hospice needs.
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
- Experience working within a distributed physician medical staff structure and an interdisciplinary setting.
- Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in at least one state within the division of responsibility.
- Clear of any contractual restrictions to provide clinical and administrative services on behalf of Gentiva.
- Current and valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) and DEA Registration for Schedules 2 through 5 and any applicable state-controlled substance prescribing registration.
- Hospice and Palliative Medicine board certification from ABMS or AOA-BOS, and/or Hospice Medical Director Certification Board certification is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in the palliative space and 3-5 years of experience or exposure to providing care in a value-based environment.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
