We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals who excel in relationship building and prioritize safety to take on the role of Gymnasium Supervisor. This position involves engaging with and mentoring young members while upholding our commitment to a member-centric culture by exemplifying the YMCA's core values and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe and positive environment for all members within the gymnasium.
- Act as a role model by consistently demonstrating the YMCA's core values and guiding young individuals in understanding the significance of good character.
- Assist in facilitating sports programs, including basketball, and may serve as a referee.
- Promote a culture of acceptance and respect for diverse backgrounds.
- Proactively address and resolve any incidents of bullying or harassment.
- Serve as the first point of contact for member inquiries and concerns, providing solutions and documenting outcomes for branch leadership.
- Engage with members and foster relationships throughout your shift.
- Complete and submit an end-of-shift report to the Sports Coordinator.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of experience in customer service, hospitality, or a related field.
- Familiarity with basketball and other sports programming is advantageous.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Ability to work independently, make quick decisions, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Competence in maintaining a safe environment for all members.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Willingness to learn and adhere to YMCA policies and best practices.
- Certification in CPR/AED and First Aid is required upon hire (training will be provided).
- A welcoming demeanor and professional attitude are crucial.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and engage actively with members.
Flexible Scheduling:
We offer a variety of shifts, including:
Weekdays: 7pm-10pm
Weekends: 9am-1pm and 1pm-5pm
