Responsibilities of the Senior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor:

The Senior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor is tasked with overseeing and coordinating the final assembly, inspection, and testing of aircraft. This role involves hands-on leadership, including the installation and testing of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, structural, powerplant, and flight systems in accordance with engineering specifications. The supervisor utilizes a variety of tools, instruments, and equipment to ensure operations are conducted safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Effectively managing the workload of a team of aircraft assembly technicians under the direction of production management.
  • Conducting thorough annual inspections on GameBird aircraft, adhering to Game Composites guidelines, FAA regulations, and company standards.
  • Ensuring that all aircraft assembly complies with FAA-approved procedures.
  • Assisting in establishing operational standards for the work cell, focusing on time efficiency and quality.
  • Promoting first-time quality within the team and leading process improvement initiatives in collaboration with other departments.
  • Interpreting engineering blueprints and technical instructions to construct subassemblies and systems.
  • Employing hand tools to assemble components securely.
  • Utilizing measurement and testing equipment to confirm operational parameters.
  • Testing components and systems, troubleshooting as necessary to meet engineering specifications.
  • Implementing Foreign Object Debris and Damage Prevention techniques consistently.
  • Completing work checklists and reviewing the work of others as required.
  • Adhering to all company policies regarding safe work practices.
  • Engaging in various physical activities including walking, sitting, standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, crouching, laying, and reaching.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Five years of experience in maintaining or assembling certified aircraft.
  • Active Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P License).
  • Active FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations, airworthiness directives, and industry standards related to aircraft maintenance and inspections.
  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft systems, structures, components, and maintenance practices.
  • Comprehensive understanding of flight systems and composite materials, particularly carbon fiber.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and aircraft assembly equipment, along with intermediate mathematics skills necessary for job functions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to safety to ensure top-quality outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills to effectively lead a diverse team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A passion for aviation and aircraft operations (preferred).
  • Knowledge or experience with Lean Manufacturing principles (preferred).
  • A high level of intellectual curiosity, a drive for learning, and a proactive approach (preferred).
  • Demonstrated capability to lead teams effectively (preferred).
