Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Interstate Waste Services. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel heavy trucks and engines
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with vehicles and equipment
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment
  • Assist with service calls for breakdowns
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards
Requirements:
  • 3-5+ years of experience as a class A or B mechanic
  • Computer diagnostic experience is required
  • Prior experience in the waste management industry or heavy equipment/yellow iron dealership experience is a plus
  • Trade school or similar training is a plus
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and practices
