We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Interstate Waste Services. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel heavy trucks and engines
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with vehicles and equipment
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment
- Assist with service calls for breakdowns
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards
- 3-5+ years of experience as a class A or B mechanic
- Computer diagnostic experience is required
- Prior experience in the waste management industry or heavy equipment/yellow iron dealership experience is a plus
- Trade school or similar training is a plus
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices
- Competitive hourly wage based on experience
- Time and a half for overtime
