Position Overview:
Since its establishment, The GEO Group has been dedicated to providing essential services in the field of immigration management. Our programs play a crucial role in supervising individuals involved in immigration proceedings. We achieve successful outcomes by integrating thorough case management with effective supervision technologies. Additionally, we collaborate with a wide range of community partners to ensure participants receive the necessary support for their fundamental life needs. With a track record of positive results, our programs continue to expand, serving a growing number of individuals.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
At least two (2) years of experience in customer service or case management is required; experience in law, social work, detention, corrections, or working with diverse cultural groups is preferred.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is mandatory.A valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to safely operate a vehicle for home visits.
Must be able to pass a federal background check and obtain a suitability determination.
U.S. citizenship is required.
Must have resided in the U.S. for 3 of the last 5 years (military and study abroad included).
Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with employees, community contacts, government officials, and participants. The ability to interpret and convey rules, orders, instructions, and materials is necessary. Proficiency in report writing is also required.
Demonstrated sound judgment and the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations, such as interpersonal conflicts or emergencies, are crucial. The ability to defuse tense situations is important.
Ability to engage tactfully with the public.
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential.
Ability to interact with multicultural contacts with sensitivity.
Basic knowledge of immigration laws, regulations, and procedures is preferred.
Basic computer skills are necessary.
Ability to interpret electronic monitoring messages and daily summary reports.
Good typing skills for data entry and maintaining case records are required.
Ability to work with computers and relevant software used by the department.
Working Conditions:
Regularly encountered conditions include:
A typical office environment.
Some local travel is required.
Use of standard office equipment such as copiers, computers, keyboards, telephones, and fax machines.
Bending, stooping, and using hands and fingers to install electronic monitoring equipment on participants.
Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, or balance, enter and exit a vehicle, and climb stairs multiple times daily for home visits.
Key Responsibilities:
Summary:
Manage casework for participants in the Intensive Supervision Appearance Program (ISAP) from entry to release, adhering to the program's policies and procedures as defined by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) contract.
Develop, implement, coordinate, review, and update case management and individual service plans for ISAP participants in compliance with state and federal regulations and program requirements.
Maintain accurate and complete case records for all ISAP participants from entry to release. Proactively manage cases using appropriate tools and techniques while ensuring confidentiality.
Conduct intake interviews and orientation sessions with each ISAP participant within required timeframes.
Install electronic monitoring equipment on ISAP participants as necessary and monitor compliance with the electronic monitoring program.
Assist ISAP participants in obtaining travel documents from their countries of citizenship and maintain a log of travel document information for each participant.
Evaluate the English proficiency of ISAP participants to determine necessary resources for effective communication.
Coordinate and facilitate translation services for ISAP participants, including emergency translation services.
Connect participants with community resources such as transportation, medical, food, shelter, clothing, educational, financial, legal, religious, and other social adjustment resources.
Identify and coordinate required services.Supervise ISAP participants while in Company offices.
Establish schedules for ISAP participants that include counseling sessions, immigration court appearances, and access to legal services.
Coordinate with participants to ensure attendance at legal orientation and cultural orientation sessions, as well as supplemental services evaluations.Review individual service plans, conduct risk/needs assessments, and write progress reports regularly in compliance with contractual obligations.
Report program violations promptly using established reporting parameters.Conduct home visits to verify participants' residences in compliance with contractual obligations.
Provide emergency counseling for ISAP participants as needed.
Identify and maintain relationships with translation resources in the community, including private services, volunteers, universities, ESL schools, NGOs, churches, and other organizations that may offer resources.
Perform other duties as assigned.Compensation:
Pay is set at USD $20.26 per hour.
