Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Maintain nursing service objectives, goals, and standards of practice consistent with licensure requirements and the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Evaluate staffing patterns to meet resident needs in conjunction with the Director of Nursing.
  • Administer medication and treatments as prescribed.
  • Receive, transcribe, and implement physician orders.
  • Implement and evaluate care plans.
  • Identify and secure equipment and supplies.
  • Direct and oversee subordinate staff.
  • Participate in duty assignments.
  • Organize and coordinate subordinate tasks and time allotments.
  • Oversee and monitor subordinate staff functions and activities.
  • Evaluate staff performance and institute appropriate action, discipline, or training.
  • Monitor infection control compliance.
  • Investigate and document accidents and incidents.
Requirements
  • Current, valid licensure as a LVN required.
  • Experience in long-term healthcare preferred.
  • Management or supervisory experience required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills needed.
  • Strong written and verbal skills required.
