Key Responsibilities- Teach and mentor students in the simulation clinic, focusing on the development of hand skills in all areas of general dentistry.
- Supervise students in the simulation clinic, providing guidance and feedback to ensure they meet the required standards.
- Interact positively with students, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters personal and professional growth.
- Be a positive role model for students, demonstrating professionalism, respect, and empathy in all interactions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest techniques, materials, and treatment protocols in dentistry, and share this knowledge with students through lectures and workshops.
- Develop and deliver lectures on topics or disciplines as requested by the Assistant/Associate Dean for Pre-Clinical Education.
- Be a course director as requested by the Assistant/Associate Dean for Pre-Clinical Education.
- Evaluate students in a timely manner, providing constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
- Meet with the Assistant/Associate Dean for Pre-Clinical Education for performance reviews and to discuss student progress.
- Be competent in the use of the college's patient digital record keeping system, and demonstrate this competence in the simulation clinic.
- Work professionally with specialists as needed, role modeling a positive working relationship between general dentists and specialists.
- Be a positive influence on the MWU CDMI program, contributing to its growth and development.
- Be willing to mentor students in small groups on projects or special needs, as requested by the college.
- Be willing to work as a member of a team of faculty, accepting calibration of college protocols as necessary in the college teaching environment.
- DDS/DMD degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a general dentistry clinical environment.
- Strong clinical experience in the use of CAD/CAM.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with the latest techniques and technologies in dentistry.
