We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Specialist to join our team at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). As a Contract Specialist, you will play a critical role in planning and managing acquisitions to procure a variety of products and services for NGA.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct market research and lead the development and implementation of acquisition plans/strategies for complex requirements.
- Interact with customers to develop and implement an acquisition strategy, solicit and evaluate proposals, and negotiate and award contracts.
- Administer multiple complex contracts independently, including monitoring contractor performance, preparing modifications, resolving problems, and terminating and closing out contracts.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and other applicable supplements to acquisition processes. You will also need to have experience leading customer interactions to develop acquisition strategies based on market research and solicitations with selection criteria and/or instructions.
Desirable QualificationsIn addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: familiarity with the DoD Source Selection Manual, knowledge of Federal Appropriations Law, experience in Information Technology (IT) acquisitions to include agile software development, and demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative approaches and/or creative solutions in response to new and emerging ideas.
