About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced RN Med/Surg General Internal Medicine - Day/Night to join our team at University Hospital in Madison, WI. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with medical students, interns, residents, and attending providers to provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions, including pneumonia, COPD, CHF, acute and chronic renal failure, cellulitis, gastrointestinal bleeds, acute and chronic liver failure, diseases of addiction, and diabetes mellitus.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individual patient care plans and ensure seamless discharge planning.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy and critical thinking skills.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and evidence-based care.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years.
  • Experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
  • WI nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state.
  • BLS certification through American Heart Association.
  • Basic Arrhythmia experience and ability to pass UW Health Telemetry test.
