Job Overview

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all feed mill machinery is functioning optimally and conduct regular assessments for preventative maintenance.
  • Perform servicing, repairs, and refurbishments on both new and existing feed mill equipment.
  • Maintain and operate shop tools and equipment, ensuring quality repairs are completed efficiently.
  • Adhere to a structured work schedule, with on-call responsibilities for after-hours repairs.

Key Accountability Areas:

  • Complete the maintenance program on time, adhering to weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly schedules.
  • Address maintenance needs as directed by various departments within the feed mill.
  • Communicate maintenance issues promptly to the Plant Manager.
  • Ensure all safety mechanisms are operational and maintained regularly.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and determine necessary repairs.
  • Conduct required inspections and maintain accurate records of work performed.
  • Research repair options and propose changes or purchases to the Plant Manager.
  • Oversee the work order process for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain all shop tools, machines, and equipment in good condition.
  • Promote cleanliness and safety in the work area.
  • Coordinate scheduled repairs and maintenance with the Plant Manager.
  • Stay updated on technical and safety advancements, pursuing further education as needed.
  • Assist with seasonal operations, including corn piling and snow removal.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a maintenance-related role.
  • Proficient in electrical systems, welding, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
  • Capability to operate large machinery and lift at least 50 pounds.
