Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately fulfill customers' prescription requests
  • Administer vaccinations as required
  • Offer patient counseling and pharmaceutical care
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations (including HIPAA)
  • Maintain a professional demeanor through personal appearance and conduct, as well as the pharmacy's cleanliness and organization
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the local market, customer base, and competition
  • Foster a positive image of the pharmacy department through excellent service and collaboration with customers, colleagues, and vendors
  • Oversee inventory management, adherence to policies and procedures, record keeping, security, sanitation, scheduling, and equipment operation
  • Maintain accurate records and security for all controlled substances
  • Follow protocols for sourcing pharmacy products from authorized suppliers
  • Utilize accuracy tools effectively, including scanners and audit reports
  • Establish and maintain necessary record-keeping practices for legal compliance and company policies
  • Ensure a clean and organized workspace to present a professional image
  • Handle product returns in accordance with company policy
  • Maintain all pharmacy equipment in good working order
  • Organize policy manuals, reference materials, and state regulations, ensuring staff are knowledgeable
  • Display appropriate signage in all necessary areas
  • Continuously seek to enhance personal knowledge and pharmacy skills
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD, or equivalent recognition as a Foreign Pharmacist from the Board of Pharmacy
  • Current state pharmacist license in good standing
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
  • Ability to manage stressful situations effectively

Preferred Experience/Education

  • One year of retail pharmacy experience
  • Proficiency in a second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing)
