Medical Laboratory Specialist

ReqOverflow is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team in a hospital-based setting. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing expertise and championing results in our laboratory.
Key Responsibilities- Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing and analyze proficiency testing samples according to instructions and complete within the allowable time frame.
- Assume responsibility of the department as appropriate in the absence of the supervisor.
- Complete all required records/documentation pertaining to patient results.
- Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets.
- Demonstrate the ability to use good judgment and independent thinking in the correlation and interpretation of patient results.
- Review pending logs (OSR) and result logs; resolve any outstanding workload or communicate to staff relief.
- Take pertinent corrective action when the patient, quality control, standard, calibration and/or proficiency results are not within appropriate guidelines.
- Associates Degree/Bachelors is required.
- A 4 yr Bachelors Degree in Med technology is preferred.
- A State of Florida Medical Technologist License is required.
- Licensure in one or more clinical specialty areas: (Generalist highly preferred): Blood bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology.
- Medical Technologist experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist in a clinical or reference lab setting is preferred but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- A State of Florida Medical Technologist License is required. Generalist license (all areas) is required but we will consider applicants licensed in 3 or more of the following areas:
- Blood bank
- Serology
- Chemistry
- Hematology
- Microbiology
- MUST HAVE TECHNOLOGIST EXPERIENCE IN THE US
