About the Role:

New Balance Athletics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Innovation Engineer to join our Moonshot Innovation Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for researching new technologies, materials, and design tools to identify future innovation opportunities.

You will work closely with global partners and new vendors to envision future footwear applications, leveraging athlete and consumer insights to identify unmet needs. Your expertise in creating innovative footwear concepts, materials, and products will drive the engineering required to meet New Balance's long-term innovation vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify new technologies, materials, and design tools to drive innovation
  • Collaborate with global partners and vendors to envision future footwear applications
  • Leverage athlete and consumer insights to identify unmet needs
  • Create innovative footwear concepts, materials, and products
  • Lead the engineering required to meet New Balance's long-term innovation vision

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Engineering, Material Science, Biomechanics, or related discipline
  • 9+ years of professional experience in a technical role, preferably in the footwear industry
  • Knowledge of biomechanics and experience working with athlete insights
  • Ability to navigate multiple disciplines and self-teach
  • Excellent communication, multi-tasking, and organization skills
  • Ability to lead and work in a team-oriented environment
