Job Title: Consulting Utility Forester

ACRT, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consulting Utility Forester to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines, submitting inspection results to clients with recommendations, and planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of assigned tree clearance crews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of trees and brush along utility lines to identify potential hazards and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Develop and implement plans for tree clearance and vegetation management to ensure safe and reliable utility operations
  • Collaborate with clients, tree crews, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on forestry and horticulture practices to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in forestry and vegetation management

Requirements:

  • 2-year or 4-year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science, natural resources, or closely related field
  • 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or related field (e.g., general Right-of-Way management, Integrated Vegetation Management, nursery work, or timber cutting)
  • Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware preferred but not required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work effectively with stakeholders and clients
  • Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather, with flexible schedules as needed
