Position Overview:
As a Breast Imaging Specialist, you will work under the guidance of designated leadership, adhering to established protocols to conduct precise and efficient mammography examinations. Utilizing advanced imaging technology, your independent judgment and creativity will be essential in delivering high-quality images for diagnostic interpretation. You will embody the Corewell Health philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-quality mammography examinations after confirming patient identity, physician orders, and appropriate billing in the system.
- Demonstrate proficiency in operating mammography imaging equipment.
- Ensure optimal image quality through effective patient positioning techniques for various mammography procedures.
- Monitor patient safety throughout the examination process.
- Engage in ongoing professional development in accordance with ARRT standards.
- Utilize hospital software systems for accurate billing, scheduling, and image management.
- Communicate effectively with administrative staff, medical personnel, and colleagues.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and storage areas.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Education: Graduate of a JRCERT Accredited Radiography program.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience beyond the staff radiographer level is preferred.
- Certification: Must hold ARRT certification; additional Mammography certification is required within one year of hire.
- Other Requirements: Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers at hire.
