Job Title: Registered Nurse 2 (Psychiatric)

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse 2 (Psychiatric) to join our team at the New York State Office of Mental Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide clinical consultation and training on all aspects of psychiatric nursing, and plan, supervise, and provide nursing care to individuals with mental illness in facilities and programs operated by the Office of Mental Health.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical consultation and training on all aspects of psychiatric nursing
  • Plan, supervise, and provide nursing care to individuals with mental illness
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop strategies for care
  • Develop and implement educational programs for patients, families, and staff
Requirements:
  • Possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State
  • Two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience working with individuals, at least 50% of whom have been diagnosed with mental illness, addiction, or substance use disorder
  • Substitutions: a bachelor's degree in nursing may substitute for one year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience; and a master's degree in nursing may substitute for two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience required for Registered Nurse 2 (Psychiatric)
