AIMS LOCUM TENENS LLC is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to provide high-quality pharmacy services in an inpatient setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, ensuring adherence to The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient responses to drug therapy and plan drug therapy based on physician-established diagnoses.
- Receive and review prescriptions, including controlled drugs, on the pharmacy formulary.
- Coordinate with prescribers to clarify issues with dosing, interactions, or instructions as needed.
- Prepare replenishment orders, receive incoming stock, check for discrepancies, and rotate medication stock and supplies.
- Enter medication orders into an electronic healthcare system and review for allergies, interactions, and duplicate orders.
- Prepare sterile products and perform pharmaceutical calculations for various preparations.
- Adhere strictly to sterile procedures and maintain equipment.
- Prepare and fill physician orders for IV solutions, parenteral, and inpatient unit dose orders.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience within the last five (5) years as an inpatient, outpatient, or oncology pharmacy technician.
- Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a similar program, including military training programs.
- Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT), or CHPhT.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
