ROLE OVERVIEW

The Class A Truck Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials to various customer locations. This role requires adherence to safety regulations, timely delivery of goods, and exemplary customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely operate delivery vehicles, ensuring compliance with all driving regulations.
  • Load and secure products for transport, assisting with loading as necessary.
  • Deliver orders to designated locations, ensuring proper positioning of vehicles for loading and unloading.
  • Assist customers with unloading materials, ensuring safety and accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, including mileage and order details.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and customers, addressing any concerns that may arise.
  • Keep delivery vehicles clean and perform routine safety checks to meet company standards.
  • Utilize handheld devices for compliance with safety regulations, excluding while driving.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
  • May operate forklifts or other material handling equipment as needed.
  • Participate in safety meetings and recommend improvements to safety procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Valid Class A CDL license.
  • At least one year of delivery driving experience; two years preferred.
  • Ability to pass MVR report and obtain a DOT medical card.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and speaking English.
