Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our Finishing Department team at Avery Dennison. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes by supplying departments with necessary materials and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pull bulk rolls for finishing assets and practice FIFO (First-In-First-Out) to ensure timely delivery to machines
  • Bring pallets to the Finishing area and consolidate materials to optimize storage and reduce waste
  • Break down and store metal and plastic bulk racks, and stretch wrap pallets of product coming from finishing
  • Load finished goods onto trucks for DC as needed and unload trailers as required
  • Pull QA's MPI sample list and return when finished, and remove scrap from Finishing - Replace Gaylord and scrap racks
  • Pick up and transfer material racks, pallets, and other consumable supplies to/from production areas as required
  • Replenish cores at MU2 when asked by the operator, and remove scrap and broken pallets from Finishing floor
  • Operate floor scrubbing machine and clean floor in finishing department, and maintain good housekeeping throughout the site
  • Support all 5S housekeeping activities and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
  • Consistently work in a safe manner with regard to self, co-workers, and manufacturing systems
  • Engage and inspire team members to make safety personal, and perform general housekeeping tasks and waste removal within department/group
  • Review daily work process seeking opportunities to improve product/process quality and reduce waste, rework, and unnecessary work
  • Assist and support other team members in meeting department and site goals, and participate in team decision-making

This is a physically demanding role that requires standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
