Occupational Therapist

ProCare Therapy is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join its team of dedicated professionals in Scranton, PA. As a School-Based Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering therapy services to students across the school district.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the needs of students with varied learning and developmental challenges and will thrive in a collaborative setting, working with educators, families, and other professionals to support student progress and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct detailed assessments to identify students' needs, strengths, and areas for growth, developing personalized education plans (IEPs) and therapy goals based on these findings.
- Therapeutic Intervention: Provide individualized therapy, including exercises, adaptive strategies, and skill-building activities focused on enhancing academic performance, motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living abilities.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with teachers, special education staff, and families to develop and implement strategies that align with students' educational and developmental goals, participating in IEP meetings and offering input on necessary accommodations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of student progress, therapy plans, and session notes, preparing reports for IEP meetings, progress reviews, and compliance needs.
- Professional Growth: Stay informed on the latest practices in occupational therapy and special education, participating in professional development to continuously enhance your skills.
- Education: Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Valid Occupational Therapist license in PA.
- Experience: Prior experience in a school-based setting or with children with diverse needs is preferred, especially with IEP planning and implementation.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles and best practices, with excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
