Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Research Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing novel sensing technologies for our flagship embedded product. Your expertise in solid/fluid mechanics, CAD, and rapid prototyping/fabrication will be instrumental in advancing our sensing capabilities and ensuring the reliability of our products.
Key Responsibilities- Prototype solid-state physical sensing systems for detecting complex electromechanical phenomena
- Design and develop data acquisition and physical experimentation infrastructure
- Conduct literature reviews and research on electronic sensing technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, electrical engineers, and product managers
- 4+ years of experience in prototyping, fabrication, additive, and subtractive manufacturing
- 4+ years of professional experience in CAD and FEM/FEA
- 4+ years of quantitative modeling and analysis experience in Python
- Experience with enclosure and mechanism design, including specification and assembly of fixtures, rigging, and environmental test setups
- Strong fundamentals in classical physics
- Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Experience with machine learning and data analytics
- Knowledge of linear control systems and control theory
