Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Research Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing novel sensing technologies for our flagship embedded product. Your expertise in solid/fluid mechanics, CAD, and rapid prototyping/fabrication will be instrumental in advancing our sensing capabilities and ensuring the reliability of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prototype solid-state physical sensing systems for detecting complex electromechanical phenomena
  • Design and develop data acquisition and physical experimentation infrastructure
  • Conduct literature reviews and research on electronic sensing technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, electrical engineers, and product managers
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in prototyping, fabrication, additive, and subtractive manufacturing
  • 4+ years of professional experience in CAD and FEM/FEA
  • 4+ years of quantitative modeling and analysis experience in Python
  • Experience with enclosure and mechanism design, including specification and assembly of fixtures, rigging, and environmental test setups
  • Strong fundamentals in classical physics
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience with machine learning and data analytics
  • Knowledge of linear control systems and control theory
