Job Summary:

The Paramedic is a vital member of the Emergency Department patient care team at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – San Marcos. Reporting to the ED Nursing Director or Nursing Manager, this certified and/or licensed paramedic collaborates with nursing staff to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Under the direct clinical supervision of a licensed physician, the Paramedic provides assistance and performs procedures, administering medications and conducting patient evaluations based on their field skill sets. They assist the nursing staff in maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient environment, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements:

High School Graduate or equivalent required. Successful completion of a paramedic program and passing the paramedic exam are essential. One year of experience as a Paramedic in a 9-1-1 or hospital setting is required, with three years preferred. Current certification as an EMT-P in the state of Texas, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, and NRP within 90 days of hire are mandatory.
