Maintenance Scheduling Specialist

Job Summary

This is a critical role within the Valero organization, responsible for ensuring the effective operation of our ethanol plant's maintenance activities. The successful candidate will be a skilled coordinator who can develop and implement job and safety plans to improve workforce productivity, while also providing leadership and guidance on the effective operation of our computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all maintenance activities to ensure that all work is planned, estimated, and scheduled in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop and implement job and safety plans to improve workforce productivity and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Act as liaison between maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on the effective operation of the CMMS, including training and support for maintenance personnel.
  • Analyze and investigate all work requests to ensure that they are properly prioritized and scheduled.
  • Develop and manage work order-based job plans to ensure that all maintenance activities are completed on time and within budget.
  • Plan and schedule all maintenance work, including estimating time and resources required.
  • Manage the maintenance scheduling process, including weekly management meetings and maintenance team meetings.
  • Ensure that all necessary parts, materials, and tools are requisitioned to complete planned jobs.
  • Work with maintenance and engineering managers to support plant reliability and mechanical integrity programs.
  • Oversee plant preventative maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) programs to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and that any issues are identified and addressed promptly.
  • Track and report on maintenance performance metrics to ensure that the team is meeting its goals and objectives.
  • Assist with planning and scheduling for major plant turn-around and equipment overhauls.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure that all maintenance activities are completed on time and within budget.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.
