Job Summary

The RN Clinical Nurse is a key member of our interdisciplinary team, providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes. As a RN Clinical Nurse at Wellstar Health System, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in the performance of clinical care, using evidence-based practice and analytical/critical thinking to ensure individualized care.
  • Provide relationship-based patient-centered care that is consistent with population-specific characteristics, adapting service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity.
  • Partner with patients and significant others (as appropriate) using effective communication methods, such as bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient teaching.
  • Practice using current clinical practice standards and coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model.
Teamwork and Collaboration

  • Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a manner that is fiscally responsible and promotes the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
  • Participate and support performance improvement, research, and research utilization to promote safe, quality patient care.
Professional Development and Initiative
  • Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, required mandatory education, and population-specific education.
  • Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses (and staff or students for all disciplines) to ensure a current and future qualified workforce.
Required Minimum Education and License(s)
  • Associates Nursing or Bachelors Nursing - Preferred
  • Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact
  • Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS - Instructor or ACLS - Provisional
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
  • Optimize the use of technology to support clinical care and hold basic computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills, along with customer service skills required
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a decisive, composed, and respectful manner
