Role SummaryUnder the guidance of the Chief Nuclear Medicine Technologist and the Director of Radiology, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for executing nuclear medicine imaging procedures and associated techniques, which will be interpreted by a licensed independent practitioner. Adherence to professional standards and compliance with state and federal regulations is essential.
Educational BackgroundThe ideal candidate will have graduated from a program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology.
Certifications and LicensureMandatory Certification: Current certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist from either the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (NM) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CNMT), or be registry eligible.
Additional Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or an equivalent credential.
No prior experience is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities- Conducts diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures in alignment with departmental standards.
- Evaluates relevant patient information and prepares patients for procedures, ensuring they understand what to expect.
- Documents patient care and procedural details accurately.
- Utilizes hospital and departmental information systems and equipment proficiently.
- Maintains productivity and flexibility to meet patient care and departmental needs.
- Follows departmental policies and safety protocols specific to the modality.
- Actively participates in departmental and modality meetings, contributing to committee initiatives.
- Engages in continuous improvement activities in line with organizational goals.
Standard shift hours are from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with no on-call requirements.
