Medical Surgical Nurse

Job Summary:
- We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse with telemetry expertise to provide exceptional patient care in our Medical Surgery Unit.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide evidence-based nursing care to patients in the Medical Surgery Unit, focusing on those requiring telemetry monitoring.
- Telemetry Monitoring: Utilize telemetry equipment to continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, identifying any abnormalities and taking prompt action when necessary.
- Assessment and Documentation: Conduct thorough patient assessments, document patient information accurately, and maintain up-to-date medical records.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper dosage, route, and patient education.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on medical conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care plans.
- Safety and Infection Control: Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean patient care environment.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an RN in a medical surgery unit with telemetry expertise.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
