Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, while prioritizing their privacy, dignity, and preferences.
- Provide mobility support by using proper techniques and equipment to help residents with transfers, aiming to prevent falls or injuries.
- Monitor vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate, and report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
- Observe residents' physical and emotional conditions, and promptly notify the nursing team of any changes in behavior, mobility, or health status.
- Assist licensed nurses with medication administration, ensuring accurate documentation, and provide nutrition support.
- Maintain infection control protocols and collaborate with the healthcare team to implement care plans and achieve residents' goals.
Requirements
- Active New York State Nurse Aide Certification
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a CNA, especially in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting, is preferred
