We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Direct Support Professional in Southern Maine. This role involves providing support and care to adults with disabilities, helping them to live independently and participate fully in their communities.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience working with individuals with brain injuries and/or disabilities. A valid U.S. driver's license and satisfactory driving record are also required.
We offer a competitive salary of $18/hour, 11 paid holidays, and 14 days paid time off. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, and a 403(b) retirement plan with company match.
In this role, you will be responsible for the overall well-being of program participants, cultivating an environment that fosters independence and positive relationships. Your duties will include:
- Advocating for assigned individuals, attending meetings, scheduling medical appointments, and developing family and community relationships.
- Attending to individuals' personal care needs, including lifting and assisting with mobility devices.
- Transporting individuals to appointments and activities using your personal vehicle.
- Transferring from one assignment to another as requested.
You will work closely with our team to develop and implement Individual Program Plans (IPPs), maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with staff and stakeholders.
