Laser Operator Job Description

Key Technology is seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our production team on swing shift. As a global industrial manufacturing company, we provide innovative solutions for food processing technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate CNC laser cutting machines to fabricate metal parts from sheet stock.
  • Ensure safety is the top priority while performing any part of the job.
  • Follow supervisor instructions and read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Utilize forklifts and overhead lifting devices to load and align raw material on laser bed.
  • Load pre-developed programs into controller and monitor cutting process to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions.
  • Adjust machine settings to meet quality and quantity standards and remove laser cut parts from laser bed.
  • Promptly contact supervisor or lead if any problems with material or equipment arise.
  • Read and comprehend basic blueprints and safely operate hand tools such as grinders, bevel mills, and drills.
  • Consistently perform laser clean up duties including emptying trays and identify the next nest to be run.
  • Obtain and maintain forklift certification and perform restarts as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six to twelve months of related experience and/or training.
