About the Role

Headway Workforce Solutions is seeking Part-Time Data Collection Specialists to join our team for a research project in Akron, OH. As a specialist, you will work with 1st-grade students in various schools to assess their reading abilities and conduct classroom observations of reading instruction.

The role requires flexibility, as some schools may allow virtual visits, while others may require in-person interactions. You will work approximately 10 hours per week during observations and 10-20 hours per week during endline data collection. Travel between schools in Akron is necessary, with all mileage reimbursed at the government rate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess students' reading abilities through observation and assessment protocols.
  • Conduct classroom observations of reading instruction from January through March.
  • Collect endline data from April to May.

You will be required to travel frequently to assigned locations, be outside and exposed to varying weather conditions, and stand, walk, and climb stairs as needed. A valid driver's license, dependable car, and proof of auto insurance are also essential.

Requirements
  • Must be able to work weekdays during school hours.
  • Able to work 10-20 hours per week.
  • Able to travel to schools across Akron.
  • Comfortable working in a school setting.
  • Able to adhere to rigorous assessment and observation protocols.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Motivated, self-starter, comfortable working independently and on a team.
  • Exceptional time-management, organizational, and record-keeping skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Successfully complete mandatory paid, virtual training.
  • Have a valid driver's license, dependable car, and proof of auto insurance.
Benefits
  • Pay rate: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour.
  • All mileage reimbursed at the government rate.
