Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Parks Maintenance Technician to join our team at the City of Osage Beach, MO. As a key member of our Parks and Recreation department, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks to maintain the beauty and functionality of our city's parks and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Park Maintenance: Perform general grounds maintenance, including litter pick up, trash removal, mowing and trimming grounds, landscaping, and ball diamond maintenance.
  • Facility Maintenance: Clean all paved surfaces with a blower, maintain facilities by cleaning restrooms daily, replenish paper products daily, and clean concession stands as required.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and service on motor vehicles and equipment.
  • Reporting and Communication: Report any damaged, broken property, or unsafe conditions to your supervisor and follow departmental rules, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • License: Possess a valid Missouri Driver's License.
  • Experience: One year of experience in a position equivalent to a Parks Technician or a combination of education, training, or experience that would qualify for the position as determined by the City Administrator and Parks & Recreation Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of: Construction equipment, materials, and methods employed in parks department operation and maintenance, as well as hazards and safety precautions common in City parks and facilities.
  • Ability to: Carry out general mechanical tasks, maintain detailed accurate records and reports, operate City vehicles in accordance with state laws and City Policies, establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and the general public, and understand and follow verbal and written instructions with limited supervision.
