About the Job:

Patient care for individuals with mental health issues is the primary focus of this Psychiatric Nurse position. The ideal candidate will have experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with psychiatric problems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing the mental health status of patients with behavioral challenges
  • Collaborating with medical providers and mental health staff in the design and delivery of patient care
  • Administering and monitoring the effectiveness and side effects of psychotropic medications
  • Assisting patients and families in interpreting and managing maladaptive behaviors and planning healthy lifestyle changes
  • Exercising balanced judgment in evaluation situations and making decisions to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a professional manner
