Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Children's Wisconsin - Milwaukee Campus. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Pediatric ICU and NICU units.

Responsibilities
  • Certification and Licensure
    • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
    • Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner License
  • Job Details
    • Specialty: Pediatric Respiratory Therapy
    • Travel opportunity with a focus on Pediatric ICU and NICU experience
    • Three to five years of experience in Pediatric critical care or NICU
    • Ability to function in Pediatric ICU and Level IV NICU
    • Responsibility for managing respiratory care patients, ventilator management, intubations, extubations, suctioning, and treatments
  • Requirements
    • Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
    • Three to five years of experience in Pediatric critical care or NICU
    • Pediatric ICU experience required
    • Knowledge of various ventilators, including Servo I and Servo u, LTV's, Astral, and Trilogy
    • Experience with 24-bed Pediatric cardiac ICU, 24-bed Pediatric medical ICU, 24-bed Pediatric surgical ICU, and 70-bed Level IV NICU
    • Ability to manage 2-3 Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCPs) in each of the Pediatric ICU and 3-4 RCPs in the NICU, depending on census
    • Epic Clin Doc charting preferred
  • Schedule Information
    • Contract length: 13 weeks
    • Start date: ASAP
    • Guaranteed hours per week: 36
    • Shift requirements: 12-hour night shift
    • Weekend rotation: Every other weekend, occasionally every third
    • Holiday rotation: N/A
  • Unit Specific Information
    • 24-bed Pediatric cardiac ICU
    • 24-bed Pediatric medical ICU
    • 24-bed Pediatric surgical ICU
    • 70-bed Level IV NICU
    • 2-3 RCPs in each of the Pediatric ICU and 3-4 RCPs in the NICU, depending on census

    • Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
    • Orientation week may affect guaranteed hours
