The Role

The Logistics Operations Supervisor will be tasked with managing the daily operations of shipping activities for all outgoing products to clients. This includes overseeing all elements of shipping and product transfer, ensuring accurate verification and documentation of incoming and outgoing shipments, while also providing guidance and support to shipping staff.

Your Contribution to WestRock

  • Organize and oversee inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely and efficient load scheduling.
  • Optimize trailer usage and effectively manage the trailer fleet to minimize operational costs.
  • Promote a culture of safety among team members, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and practices.
  • Compile and present daily and monthly reports to convey essential shipping metrics and insights.
  • Evaluate and manage courier services to select the most cost-effective options while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Leverage expertise in shipping protocols, routes, and pricing to prioritize shipments and ensure prompt delivery, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Engage with various management levels and departments to align on objectives and achieve desired outcomes.

Qualifications for Success

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a production environment.
  • 3 to 4 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or industrial operations.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Commitment to enhancing customer satisfaction through timely fulfillment of obligations.
  • Capability to estimate costs related to shipping and delivery operations.
  • Understanding of workplace safety importance, adherence to safety regulations, and reporting of hazardous conditions.
  • Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, management, and suppliers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
