Marine Structural Engineer

The role of a Marine Structural Engineer encompasses the execution and oversight of both straightforward and intricate analyses, designs, and documentation pertaining to a variety of structures, particularly focusing on marine infrastructures such as bulkheads, piers, and pile-supported foundations. The Marine Structural Engineer will also be responsible for conducting field investigations and overseeing construction phases as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

· Execute design and analytical tasks for diverse marine structures including bulkheads, retaining walls, mooring and breasting dolphins, platforms, and pile foundations;

· Assess and evaluate the condition of existing marine structures;

· Participate in discussions with clients, regulatory agencies, and other professionals;

· Formulate solutions to challenges posed by clients while adhering to budgetary and scheduling constraints;

· Prepare reports, timelines, cost estimates, and responses to Statements of Interest and Requests for Proposals;

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural or Geotechnical Engineering;

· A minimum of 1-5 years of experience in structural or geotechnical engineering;

· EIT certification or a valid Professional Engineering License (P.E.) in NJ, PA, or DE; additional state licensure is advantageous;

Essential Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in hand calculations and computer-aided design software necessary for engineering tasks;
  • Familiarity with design and analysis using various materials, including steel, cast-in-place and precast concrete, and timber;
  • Experience with AutoCAD is beneficial;

Compensation and Benefits

· Marine Structural Engineer - $65,000 - $90,000 annually – full-time

· Senior Marine Structural Engineer - $100,000 - $150,000 annually – full-time
