The Office of Innovation & Technology (OIT) serves as the central IT agency for the City of Philadelphia, led by the Chief Information Officer (CIO). OIT is responsible for overseeing all significant information and communications technology initiatives, enhancing the effectiveness of the city's IT infrastructure, and ensuring that services are advanced, optimized, and responsive to the needs of Philadelphia's businesses, residents, and visitors. Key responsibilities include: identifying effective strategies for implementing new IT directions, enhancing the value of the city's technology assets, ensuring data security continuity, and supporting efficient government operations across all city departments.

Position Overview

As the Chief of Information Security, you will be instrumental in protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the information assets at Philadelphia International Airport. Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), you will lead strategic initiatives aimed at mitigating cyber threats and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. A strong business acumen is essential for identifying, evaluating, and reporting information security risks in a manner that aligns with the organization's risk posture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the CISO and senior leadership to develop and maintain the organization's information security strategy, policies, and procedures. Provide direction and guidance to the information security team, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk tolerance.
  • Risk Management: Lead the identification, assessment, and prioritization of information security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities within the organization's IT infrastructure. Implement effective risk mitigation strategies and controls.
  • Security Governance & Compliance: Oversee the identification and prioritization of security risks, ensuring that appropriate strategies and controls are in place.
  • Threat Management: Develop strategies for continuous monitoring of network traffic and user activities to detect unauthorized behavior. Maintain incident response plans and lead investigations into security breaches.
  • Third Party Risk Management: Assess and manage risks associated with third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with security requirements.
  • Security Operations & Technology: Oversee the implementation of security technologies, ensuring they effectively protect against threats.
  • Change Management: Lead the change management committee to review and implement changes, ensuring security controls are updated.
Required Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are desirable.
Additional Information:

Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000.

Successful candidates must meet residency requirements and pass a background check.
