Position OverviewRole Summary
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of high school education or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a production environment.
- This position is limited to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act) due to access to sensitive technology. Verification of status will be required prior to employment.
- Utilization of basic hand tools and measurement instruments (such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes).
- Fundamental understanding of cleaning solutions.
- Competence in basic computer software applications.
- Basic ability to interpret blueprints and process documentation.
- Understanding of elementary mathematical concepts (including some conversions to decimal).
- Engagement in and support of team initiatives.
- Receive direction from senior personnel.
- Participate in cross-training with colleagues.
- Accurately complete all required labor tracking documentation.
- Ability to assess materials: dimensions, shapes, and conditions of items to be plated and cleaned.
- Utilize plating solutions for pickling and passivation processes.
- Assist in the maintenance of acid cleaning solutions and preparation of new bath mixtures.
- Support the inspection of passivation results.
- Familiarity with plating room operations and workflow.
- Accountable for cleaning and passivating components.
- Report issues to the appropriate personnel or supervisor.
- Keep all shift operators informed about operational or setup challenges.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding new processes or concerns.
- Assist with the cleaning and passivation of prototype or initial builds.
- Collaborate with engineering and/or team members to enhance layout procedures and process documentation.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance.
- Ensure equipment functionality through timely adjustments.
- Proactively seek improvements in efficiency and product quality.
- Comfortable working with and around hazardous materials (e.g., acids and chemicals).
- Must possess FAA certification.
- Adhere to safety protocols and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Previous experience handling acids and bases, with knowledge of chemical safety.
- Experience in a self-directed team environment.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
- Ability to consistently use hands and fingers in repetitive tasks.
- Occasional bending, stooping, twisting, crouching, climbing, and balancing.
- Ability to sit for extended periods; occasionally lift up to 20 lbs; push/pull up to 22 lbs.
