The Opportunity This role involves overseeing and coordinating the efforts of personnel engaged in the upkeep and repair of physical structures, machinery, and equipment through the execution of various responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Establish work schedules, sequences, and assignments based on priority, equipment availability, and employee skill levels.
  • Evaluate employee performance and monitor work output.
  • Oversee inventory levels of tools and parts, ensuring optimal maintenance of workspaces.
  • Formulate, implement, and assess maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Inspect systems, facilities, or objects to identify necessary installations, services, or repairs.
  • Organize or provide training for staff in safety, maintenance techniques, or equipment operation.
  • Conduct inspections of work areas and equipment, providing safety training to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Assess completed work using tools and gauges to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Request necessary materials and supplies, including tools and replacement parts.
  • Assist in budget planning and management, coordinating purchasing activities and monitoring departmental spending.
  • Perform skilled maintenance tasks using various tools and equipment.
  • Engage with suppliers to discuss materials used in repair operations.
  • Calculate estimates and actual costs related to materials, labor, or external contractors.
  • Review and coordinate the completion of contractor bids.
  • Interpret technical specifications and blueprints to guide work processes.
  • Supervise teams involved in painting and structural repairs.
  • Manage teams responsible for grounds maintenance, including landscaping and waste management.
  • Oversee general cleaning and maintenance of facilities.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors to synchronize departmental activities.
  • Responsibilities encompass interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning and directing work; evaluating performance; addressing employee concerns; and resolving issues.
  • Maintain a commitment to safety and efficiency by adhering to company safety protocols and utilizing required personal protective equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a technical institution.
  • 7+ years of experience in a maintenance capacity.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is essential.
  • Proficiency in Internet software, manufacturing software, Excel, and word processing applications is required.
