Project Geologist

Terracon is seeking a highly skilled Project Geologist to join our Petrography team in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting investigations of concrete and aggregate, providing technical direction and training to less experienced staff, and developing a comprehensive understanding of project-related risk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out investigations of concrete and aggregate according to ASTM standards and draft comprehensive reports of findings.
  • Provide technical direction and training to less experienced professional staff.
  • Develop understanding and awareness of project-related risk, including identifying potential hazards and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Lead safety efforts for the team and ensure adherence to safety rules and guidelines.
  • Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Physical Science, or Civil Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the composition and structure of concrete materials at a microscopic and structural level.
  • Good working knowledge of factors affecting and contributing to durability issues of cementitious material systems.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
