Position Overview:

Job Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Lead is responsible for strategic planning and support within the maintenance department, ensuring that equipment and machinery operate at peak efficiency. This role involves close collaboration with other department managers to ensure that maintenance activities are executed with minimal disruption to operations. Key responsibilities include overseeing equipment maintenance, ensuring employee safety, managing schedules, payroll, and fostering a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Promote a safe working environment and adhere to safety protocols.
  2. Ensure the quality and safety of the facility's output.
  3. Foster high morale among maintenance team members.
  4. Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety policies.
  5. Maintain adherence to working hour regulations.
  6. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and visual management tools.
  7. Conduct performance evaluations for team members.
  8. Possess a comprehensive understanding of maintenance functions.
  9. Oversee the condition of all equipment and facilities.
  10. Uphold the company's Code of Conduct.
  11. Perform maintenance tasks as needed, either independently or with technicians.
  12. Troubleshoot and maintain both mechanical and electrical processing equipment.
  13. Identify potential issues and take proactive measures to prevent equipment failure.
  14. Monitor machinery to reduce unplanned downtime and implement improvements.
  15. Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to develop maintenance schedules.
  16. Work with other departments to minimize production impact during repairs.
  17. Assist team leaders and operators with equipment adjustments.
  18. Perform building maintenance and repairs as required.
  19. Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities.
  20. Weld and fabricate machinery as necessary.
  21. Perform maintenance on various systems, including:
  • Irrigation pumps and motors
  • Conveyor systems
  • AC/DC controls
  • Pneumatic systems
  • Frequency control drives
  • Hydraulic and electrical equipment
  • Refrigeration and freezer systems
  • Electronic control systems
Adhere to all company policies, GMPs, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications:

  1. Limited Maintenance Electrician License preferred but not required.
  2. Bi-lingual in English/Spanish is advantageous.
  3. Ability to interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
  4. Proficient in writing reports and creating procedures.
  5. Effective communication skills for interacting with groups.
  6. Strong problem-solving abilities in complex situations.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and MRP systems.

Working Conditions:
